Anaplastic carcinoma of thyroid is treated by performing surgery or radiation therapy. The surgery is performed to remove the tumor. During surgery, a tube is placed inside the throat so that a person does not face any problem regarding breathing. Radiotherapy in combination with chemotherapy may be performed, but hardly shows any effective results. However, an undeniable fact is that the cancer does not get treated effectively even after taking surgery or radiation therapy. And normally it has been seen that a patient dies within the time span of 1 year after getting diagnosed with the cancer.
